Terminology For Media Magazines

Drop Capitals.
Drop capitals is something that starts in Capital betters that stands out , they are normally used to start a article off.
Buzz Words
Buzz Words are used when somethink needs to stand out for example if there was a free magazine included or free poster then the buzz words would be "free". Such words and Wow and Exclusive are used as Buzz words aswell.
Lead
A lead is the introductory paragraph of an article.
Puffs.
Puff are something that promote things that are on the inside of the magazine.
Normally puff are bright colourfull things that outline the main features.
Housestyle
Something that stands out from the rest.
Masterhead
Is the name of the magazine which is normal put in big fancy writing
Caption
Caption is something used to name an image.
Sell Lines
Sell Lines are words that are used to promote and sell the magazine.
Headline
A headline is the main story that is going on in the magazine. The headline is normal used to stand out.
Moto
Moto is a catchy phrase or word to make the magazine stand out and recognise the band.
Pugs
Pugs are know as the price the barcode etc these are known as "the ears".
Strap Line
is a slogan used in the magazine.
Banner
A banner is text which stands out on a coloured background
Copy
is the main story in the magazine
Anchorage Text
The way the text is used to help send out a message of the picture or text used.
